Program Director

Dr. Steven Rayburn

Dr. Steven Rayburn is the Interim Chair of the Department of Management, Faculty Director Service-Learning Excellence Program, a Professor of Marketing at Texas State University, and a Fulbright Specialist. Dr. Rayburn takes a pragmatic, mastery approach to teaching and has used service-learning in the classroom for over a decade. Having personally seen the benefit to students and the community, he is an avid proponent of expanding service-learning to as many courses and degree programs as possible across the university.

Born and raised in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Eduardo graduated from Texas State with an undergraduate degree in Marketing and Management. He is a graduate assistant for the Service-Learning Excellence Center. His primary duties focus on managing the daily operations of the Service-Learning Excellence program and office. Eduardo is currently pursuing a Masters in Business Administration.


 

Laura Ortiz

Laura is an international student from Colombia. She has an undergraduate degree in International Business Administration, Marketing, and Logistics. Laura is a graduate assistant for the Service-Learning Excellence Center. Her primary duties relate to developing the program's communication strategy. Laura is currently a candidate for Texas State's Masters of Science in Marketing Research and Analysis.

Chitra is a graduate assistant at the Service-Learning Excellence Center, where she is primarily responsible for researching and analyzing service-learning data to evaluate its impact on students at Texas State University. She is pursuing a Master of Science in Computer Science and has 6 years of professional experience in Software development.
